Fari
Task management that lives in your files.
Coming soonFari is a native macOS and iOS task manager where every task is a plain Markdown file on your own disk. Fast, keyboard-driven, and elegant — with first-class support for Getting Things Done. The files are always the source of truth: Fari just reads and writes them.

Your sync, your way
Because it's just files, keep them in sync with iCloud, git, or whatever you already use.
Principles
- Everything lives in the filesystem — plain text is the source of truth.
- As simple as a sheet of paper where you'd jot down your to-dos.
- Intuitive concepts that match the filesystem: files and folders, no manual required.
- Sane defaults and sane conventions out of the box.
- Fast, polished, and elegant.
- Opinionated software — no plugins, no clutter.
Private & secure by design
Fari's file-based approach isn't just simple — it's the most private way to manage your tasks.
The app never makes a single network request. Ever.
- Zero network access. Fari talks to nothing but your filesystem — no phone-home, no analytics endpoint, no update ping. There is no code that opens a connection, so your tasks physically cannot leave your machine through the app.
- Your data stays yours. Tasks are plain Markdown files on your disk — no proprietary database, no vendor cloud.
- Nothing to breach. No account, no server, no telemetry. We never see your data because it never reaches us.
- You own the sync. Use iCloud, git, or any tool you trust — with your own encryption and keys. End-to-end, by your choice.
- Fully auditable & portable. Plain text is readable by any tool, easy to back up, and free of lock-in — future-proof by default.
- Offline-first. Everything works with no network at all.
