Privacy Policy

Fari has no account, no server and no analytics. Your tasks are plain Markdown files in a folder you choose on your own device. We never receive them, because there is nothing in the app that sends them anywhere.

Information we collect

None. Fari collects no personal information whatsoever. There is no sign-up, no login, no profile, no email list tied to the app, and no identifier assigned to you or your device.

• No account. Fari never asks who you are.
• No analytics or telemetry. No usage statistics, no crash SDK, no feature-flag service, no session recording.
• No advertising and no tracking. Fari does not track you across apps or websites, and contains no advertising or third-party tracking code.
• No third-party SDKs at all. Fari is written entirely in Swift and SwiftUI with no external dependencies, so no other company receives anything through the app.

Where your data lives

Everything Fari works with stays on your device, under your control.

• Your tasks and notes are Markdown files in a folder you pick yourself. Fari reads and writes them in place; it never copies them elsewhere.
• Sandboxed access. Fari runs in Apple's App Sandbox and can only reach the folder you explicitly grant it through the system's file picker.
• Derived caches. A SQLite index of your tasks and a small window-state file are kept inside Fari's own private container on the device, and are rebuilt from your Markdown at any time.
• Preferences — things like your chosen folder, editor settings and shortcuts — are stored locally in standard system preferences.

Network access

Fari makes no network requests. There is no networking code in the app, so your tasks physically cannot leave your device through it.

The only exception is ordinary links: choosing a menu item that points at farido.app, or an email address, hands that address to your browser or mail app, which then behaves as it normally would.

Sync and iCloud

Fari has no sync service of its own. Because your tasks are just files, you can keep them in sync with whatever you already trust — iCloud Drive, git, Dropbox, Syncthing or nothing at all.

If you point Fari at a folder inside iCloud Drive, syncing is performed by Apple under Apple's privacy policy, exactly as it would be for any other file in that folder. We have no access to it and no visibility into it.

Beta builds (TestFlight)

While Fari is in beta it is distributed through Apple's TestFlight. TestFlight is operated by Apple, and Apple shares a limited amount of information about beta builds with us: crash logs, and any feedback or screenshots a tester chooses to send. That information is used only to fix bugs. Your tasks are never part of it.

Your data, your control

• Nothing to request. We hold no data about you, so there is nothing for us to export, correct or delete.
• Nothing sold or shared. We do not sell, rent or share personal information, because we do not have any.
• Deleting the app removes its private caches and preferences. Your Markdown files stay where they are — they are yours.
• Children. Fari is a general-purpose task manager and collects nothing from anyone, of any age.
